SIH Marks Construction of Cancer Center

SIH

Southern Illinois Health Care marks construction of Cancer Center.

Members of SIH senior leadership and cancer care physicians and staff joined together Monday at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale to kick off the community tour of the "ceremonial steel beam" that will complete a portion of the infrastructure of the cancer center now under construction in Carterville.
Rex Budde, SIH President and CEO, says that most people have been affected by the disease, and he is no exception.

The beam is a representation of the support and strength for all patients battling cancer, and anyone who has been affected by the disease. The 22-foot beam will be on display at each SIH hospital, beginning with Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. It will travel to Herrin Hospital on February 4th and St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro on February 11th.
