The Shawnee National Forest is taking a trip back to the future.
Later this month the US Forest Service in collaboration with Illinois Ozarks will hold the 2nd Ozark Tour on the Shawnee National Forest. The event is reminiscent of the original tours conducted by Col. L.O. Trigg during the 1930's and 1940's when he shepherded government officials and others on sight-seeing expeditions to various sites in southern Illinois including what is now the Shawnee National Forest.
WSIU Radio's Jeff Williams talked with the Forest Service's Mary McCorvie and Kelly Pearson about the upcoming event in this edition of Morning Conversation.
