Truck
Franklin County Emergency Management Agency

No one was injured in a fiery crash early Monday morning on Interstate 57 in southern Illinois.
Illinois State Police say 44-year-old Shane Blumhorst of Nashville, Illinois was traveling south on I-57 at milepost 73 in Franklin County when his tractor trailer drifted off the right side of the road. Blumhorst told troopers his trailer collided with a bridge support, causing him to slide into a ditch.

The debris from the collision caused the trailer to catch on fire, but not the cab.

Blumhorst was issued a citation for improper lane usage.

As of 5:30 p.m. Monday, the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency says both lanes of southbound I-57 are open at Petroff Road near where the accident occurred.
