This Thursday (January 18) in Murphysboro, the public is invited to a night of hands–on exploring. The first ever science night is the work of the Murphysboro Middle School Parent, Student and Teacher Association.
Association member Jamie Conley–Holt says it's a chance for adults and kids to use telescopes, microscopes and other scientific tools. Attendees will also get the chance to make magnetic slime. Astronomy expert Bob Baer, of the SIU–C Physics Department will be one of the speakers and he will bring a hovercraft to the science night.
Concessions will be available, and admission is free, although any donations will help the science department at Murphysboro Middle School purchase a 3–D printer. The Middle School is located at 2125 Spruce Street on the west side of Murphysboro.
