Schimpf Won't Seek Reelection

Senator Paul Schimpf

A southern Illinois State Senator says he won't seek reelection next year.
Senator Paul Schimpf says he can't commit to the term which would start in 2021, so he won't be a candidate in November of 2020.

The Waterloo native is currently serving his first term in the Illinois legislature. He also ran unsuccessfully for Illinois Attorney General in 2014.
