A volunteer firefighter with Down syndrome in Marion County is coming back to the department after he quit because he was bullied.
The Belleville News Democrat reports 33-year-old Jason Eagan left the Sandoval Fire Department months ago. A Facebook post by his sister went viral on Thursday when she wrote Eagan quit because several firefighters allegedly made fun of him, calling him names and removing him from the emergency paging system.

But, on Saturday, a Facebook post by Eagan's aunt said members of the fire department and a Sandoval Village Trustee apologized and he was offered his job back, which he accepted.

His sister said one of the four firefighters involved had officially resigned while another expected to in the coming days.
