The public is invited to the SIU Track and Field Complex Friday evening to honor a local family going through a difficult time.

Former Saluki quarterback Joel Sambursky, and his wife, former Saluki golfer Samantha Sambursky, had a child born 45 days early in April.
Baby Theodore has had multiple health issues since then and is currently recovering from brain surgery, which may result in permanent brain damage.

Sambursky family friend, former Saluki linebacker Connor James, has been going on "Theodore Runs" with Joel in honor of the 3-month old. James announced recently on Facebook he has organized an event called the Tough Like Teddy - 100 minute walk/run.

"Since Theodore has been in this world for 100 days, we are going to walk or run for 100 minutes. During that time, we will have what we call a "Theodore's Warrior Workout." So, if you want to come over onto the field and do something similar to what Joel and I have done, we will do that."

People are asked to start showing up at 5:30 p.m. The 100 minute clock will start at 6 p.m.
