One of the top players on the SIU men's basketball team returned to the line-up earlier this week after a six-game suspension.
Senior Armon Fletcher Friday addressed the media and apologized to his family, teammates, coaches and the University.
"The situation was a violation of team rules. Coach Hinson gave me a set of those rules when I first committed here. I fell short of one or two of them."
Fletcher says even though he's back, he's still working to regain the trust of the team, especially head coach Barry Hinson.
"He's been telling me the same thing. Just, keep working hard in practice and going hard every day, doing the small things to earn my trust back. So, that's the biggest thing."
Fletcher didn't elaborate on what the team violations were that led to the suspension.
The Edwardsville native says he's ready to help the team go for a Missouri Valley Conference championship and leave what happened in the past behind him.
Hinson says he expects Fletcher to fit back into the line-up like he did before the suspension.
