Robert Blagojevich Tells of Brother's Snub

www.wbez.org

Rod Blagojevich's brother, Robert, says in a new book his relationship with his sibling has been so strained that the ex-governor even refused to see him when he traveled to Colorado to visit him in prison.

Prosecutors tried the Blagojeviches jointly in 2010 for alleged corruption. They dropped all charges against Robert when that trial deadlocked but convicted Rod in a 2011 retrial.

The Associated Press received an advance copy of Robert's book.

He recounts how Rod approached him during a break at their 2010 trial to say Robert was "coming off clean.'' Robert writes he snapped back, "Of course I should come off clean. I am clean.''

Robert traveled from Tennessee to the prison where Rod's serving a 14-year sentence in 2012. He writes their relationship remains "completely broken.''
