The City of Carbondale has named an interim Chief of Police.
Deputy Chief Stan Reno will replace Chief of Police Jeff Grubbs, whose last day is Wednesday.
Reno has been with the Carbondale Police Department since 1997 prior to graduating from SIU with a bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice and Political Science. He's served as Deputy Chief since 2013.
Interim Chief Reno will lead the department while the City of Carbondale completes a national search for a permanent Chief, which is expected to begin after January 1.
