Officials in public safety, healthcare and other service providers in southern Illinois will come together at the 9th annual regional disaster conference.
The Shawnee Preparedness and Response Coalition is hosting the Weathering the Storm Conference on Wednesday.
The keynote speaker will be Esther Blythe Wallace. She'll talk about human trafficking from a personal perspective.
Other topics to be covered include active shooter, earthquake preparedness, flood response and disaster communications.
The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pavilion in Marion.
