Region Heading into the Deep Freeze, Then Warmer

Maps
National Weather Service

The main weather headline this week will be the arctic cold air mass plunging into the region Monday night into Tuesday.

During the transition period, rain Monday will change over to a brief period of snow Monday evening, with a light dusting anticipated at best.
The coldest air in our region since January of 2018 will remain through the workweek. The coldest conditions are expected Tuesday night through Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service has some extreme cold weather safety tips to keep in mind.

The cold weather won't stick around for long though, with temperatures warming back into the 50's by the weekend. Early next week, readings may even touch 60 degrees in some locations.
