Region 4 of Restore Illinois Hit With Further Mitigation Requirements

Sep 1, 2020

Additional COVID-19 mitigation efforts will be implemented in the Metro East as the area shows a seven-day positivity rate of 9.6% as a result of COVID-19 testing.

The Illinois Department of Public Health on Tuesday announced that beginning Wednesday, bars can no longer offer indoor service, no indoor dining or bar service can be offered by restaurants and meetings, social events and other gatherings are limited to lesser of 25 guests or 25% of overall room capacity.

Governor J-B Pritzker implemented added restrictions to this area two weeks ago and said Tuesday the situation has not gotten better, requiring these further steps.

The region falling under the additional mitigation is Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair and Washington counties.
