A Randolph County man is accused of killing another man in Union County.

Union County State's Attorney Tyler Edmonds says 48-year-old William Wasmund of Chester has been indicted on one count of First Degree Murder in connection with the death of 53-year-old Jeffery Spicer of Murphysboro.
Spicer was found dead along Route 3 North in rural Union County last September.

Prosecutors contend Wasmund killed Spicer by setting a shotgun with a trigger set to fire when the door of a shed opened at the property on Route 3.

Wasmund was taken into custody early Wednesday morning at the Chester Police Department. He is set to appear Thursday in Union County Court.
