A new service is available  to help residents decide if a health issue requires going to the hospital.  Heartland Regional's Nurse Help Line is staffed around the clock.    Amy Spiller, Marketing Coordinator at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion says the idea was born after many people were not able to see a doctor during the COVID-19 pandemic and small problems festered into larger health concerns.

"No question is too stupid to call this line.  If it's Monday at 2AM, or, on the weekend.  We're here to help people in the community."

<--break->Spiller says the Nurse Help line is free, and  is answered by a Registered Nurse, 24 hours a day who will decide the best course of action, which could include recommending going to the emergency room.  The number is  618-226-5454.
