Poll Shows Voters Unhappy With Rauner, Madigan

As Illinois remains mired in gridlock and nearing two years without a full budget, voters are pinning the blame on state leaders.

A poll from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute of likely voters finds high disapproval for Republican Governor Bruce Rauner as well as Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan.

The poll, conducted earlier this month with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points, shows 58% disapprove of Governor Rauner's job performance.  61% disapprove of Speaker Madigan.

Those surveyed were a bit more kind to the other legislative leaders.

See more of the survey here.

Sean Crawford talks with the Simon Institute's Interim Director Jak Tichenor about the poll results.
