Police Investigate Shooting at Carbondale Apartment Complex

police

Carbondale Police are investigating another shooting - this time at the Evolve apartment complex on South Illinois Avenue.
Police say they were called around 7:00 Tuesday evening to the apartments, where they found a victim with what they call a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, and investigators say the victim and suspect knew each other. Police say the two got into a fight before the shooting happened.

No names are being released, but police say they're looking for a suspect - described as a black male, with short black hair, around 20-25 years old, six-feet-two inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.

SIU Police also issued an alert in relation to the incident. Evolve is not campus housing, but it is located near the SIUC campus.

Meanwhile, an investigation continues into a fatal shooting Sunday morning. One person has been arrested, and police say they're still looking for two other suspects in that case.
