A boarding program for post-secondary students with learning disabilities, attention disorders and language based disorders is getting a new home.
The OPTONS Transition to Independence program in Carbondale held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for its new building on the Brehm Preparatory School campus.
Jeremy Robbins is head of Brehm and OPTIONS. During the ribbon cutting, he said the new space will allow them to launch the next phase of growth in the program.
"We believe that our world will be more just when young people with learning differences can access the right learning environment. This new building behind me is the new welcome center to the unique community we create at Brehm and OPTIONS. It is the welcome center to this future we envision."
The new OPTIONS location on the Brehm campus is set to be fully operational for the start of the summer semester on June 7.
