New Illinois COVID-19 Cases: 3,239 (May 14)

More than 3,000 Illinois residents tested positive for COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, and more than 100 new deaths were also recorded.

Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngoze Ezike says 3,239 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed among 22,678 tests in the last 24 hours. In addition, 138 new deaths were reported.

Overall, Illinois' number of infections now stands at 87,937 and the death toll has risen to 3,928.

LOCAL CASE UPDATES (6:30pm)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 10, with 9 recoveries.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • One new case reported – a man in his 50s from Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 52, with 36 recoveries and one death in Williamson County, 11 cases with eight recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • One new case - a man in his 20s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is now 176, with 123 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • One new positive case – a woman in her 50s.
  • Overall there have been 102 positive cases of COVID-19, with 77 recoveries and 14 deaths.

Marion County Health Department

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, there have been 48 positive cases of COVID-19, with 32 recoveries.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 38 positive cases of COVID-19, with 18 recoveries.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • Eight new cases reported.
  • 72 active cases reported, with 67 isolating at home and five hospitalized 
  • Overall, 240 positive cases of COVID-19, with 165 recoveries and three deaths.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • Three new deaths reported.
  • 11 new cases reported - a teen boy and a woman in her 60s from Johnson County; a woman in her 70s from Pulaski County; a boy under 10, a teen boy, a man in his 70s, three men in their 80s, a woman in her 90s and a man in his 90s from Union County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 161 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 48 recoveries and four deaths.
