A Colorado-based company plans to bring new businesses to Cairo.
State Senator Dale Fowler’s office says Horizon Developer Group will open a Mexican restaurant, coffee shop, laundromat, dry cleaner, and indoor children’s play center.
Fowler has been working for several months to boost economic development in the beleaguered community at the far southern end of the state. He says this announcement offers new hope and opportunity for residents in Cairo and Alexander County.
Fowler is also working with developers of a port terminal in the area where the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers converge, bringing additional jobs.
