Murphysboro Shooting

Murphysboro Police continue their investigation of an early Wednesday morning shooting...

One man was sent to the hospital, and another taken to jail.  Murphysboro Police say they were called out to a shooting in the 400 block of Dewitte Street just before 2:00am, where they found a victim who'd been shot twice in the shoulder.

The victim identified the shooter as 49-year old Tommy Lee Adams.  Officers arrested Adams a short time later. Adams faces charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.  He is being held in the Jackson County Jail.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph Memorial Hospital for treatment.
