MTVHS Trying to Stave Off Remote Only Learning

The number of quarantined students at Mt. Vernon Township High School continues to increase.

School officials say the amount of positive cases isn't high, but the number of students quarantined as close contacts continues to rise.
On Friday, the high school announced four positive cases and 31 close contacts were quarantined. Ten people were set to return Monday.

The district doesn't want to move to a full remote status, but officials say if the numbers continue to trend up, that will be something they'll be forced to consider.

Per IDPH guidance, all masks in the school must now have two layers of fabric. If a student needs a two layer mask, they are available in the district office at no charge.
