Thursday is the first day of increased restrictions  in southern Illinois to fight COVID-19.  For Melanie Andrews, Superintendent at Mt. Vernon Township High School, these stricter rules won't change anything, because, she says  her district has had good results with the steps they have been taking.

"We've had a relatively low number of positive cases, so we feel like that what we are doing is working and right now we have no plans to go full remote."

Mt. Vernon Township High School's twelve-hundred students use a hybrid schedule with half going in-person two days a week, the other half going in person the other two days, and Fridays are all remote.
