A suspect is in custody for a shooting incident in Mt. Vernon.
Mt. Vernon Police Officers and Jefferson County Deputies responded to a report of gunshots fired in the 500 block of South 15th street Wednesday. Officers arrived to find a vehicle in the street that had been hit by gunfire.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Kenneth McKinney, Jr. He was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
More arrests are possible. No one was injured.
