Mt. Vernon Police Identify Suspect in Saturday Shooting

Mt. Vernon Police have identified a suspect in a shooting this past weekend.

Officers say 45-year-old Smith Moore III of Mt. Vernon is wanted in connection with a shooting in the 400 block of South 17th Street around 3 a.m. Saturday, April 13.
One person was injured in the shooting. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Moore is wanted for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Armed Habitual Offender, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Moore should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
