Mt. Vernon Police arrested a man early Sunday morning following a traffic stop on a vehicle at 29th and Jones.
Officers say the driver of the vehicle, Jason Hill, was in possession of a speed loader containing live ammunition. During a search of Hill's vehicle officers located a loaded handgun. The handgun was listed as stolen from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Hill was taken into custody on charges of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Equipment and Driving While License Revoked.
