Mt. Vernon Man Wanted in Marion Shooting; Another Suspect Already in Custody

People
Marion Police Department

Marion Police say one person is in custody, and another is on the run, after a shooting Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Michelle Drive around 10:00pm on Saturday, to reports of shots fired. The victim, who'd been shot in the head, was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.

Investigators say they've identified two suspects: 20-year old Lord Dario Travis of Marion, who is in custody, and 27-year old Demetrius "Jessie" Hernandez of Mt. Vernon, who is still at large. Hernandez could be in the Mt. Vernon area, or Chicago - and he's considered armed and dangerous.

Travis is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and aggravated battery with a firearm. If you have any information about the incident, or about where Hernandez might be, you're asked to call the Marion Police Department - do not approach him.
