Most Illinois Students Will Learn Remotely or in a Blended Environment

Logo

A new portal on the Illinois State Board of Education's website provides parents and students with information on what their school district's plans are for the start of the academic year.
ISBE has been surveying the state’s more than 850 school districts on reopening plans and almost 80 percent have responded. Of the 671 districts that responded, the most common method is a blended model of in-person and remote learning. 319 districts will start with this blended model...covering more than 525-thousand students.

About 200 will provide in-person instruction...these are mainly smaller districts that cover 153-thousand students across the state. About 150 districts will offer remote-only classes...these are larger schools that represent around 921-thousand students.
