A Metropolis man is behind bars, accused of being a part of a marijuana distribution operation.
Illinois State Police and the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Friday, along with Metropolis Police and the US Postal Service, after reports of large amounts of marijuana being sent through the mail.
Forty-two year old Howard Palmer was arrested in the raid. Police say they seized more than six-and-a-half pounds of cannabis, and Palmer was taken to the Massac County Jail.
