Massac Co. Man Charged with Murder

A man is jailed on $2 million bond in southern Illinois after being accused of storming an apartment and fatally stabbing one of the occupants.Prosecutors in Massac County have charged 25-year-old Michael Thompkins of Pulaski with first-degree murder and home invasion. Authorities say Thompkins illegally entered the Joppa apartment of Jackie Blake and Jessica Horn early Sunday, then killed Blake. Horn was treated at a hospital and released.

Illinois State Police arrested Thompkins later in the day.  does not have a listed home telephone number. It's not immediately clear if he has an attorney.
