Badge

One man was injured in a shooting incident with Marion Police.

Officers say they were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of East Warder Street Wednesday night around 10:30 when 22-year-old Joshua Hamad shot at them from the vehicle.
Officers returned fire.

Hamad fled the vehicle on foot and was captured after a short foot pursuit. Hamad suffered two bullet wounds to his leg and was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center for treatment. He has not yet been formally charged.

The second person in the vehicle, a 17-year-old juvenile, was released with no charges.
