A man has confessed to a four-year-old murder in east-central Illinois.

Illinois State Police say 24-year-old Connor Scott now claims he killed his then girlfriend, Kaylyn Whitaker, in Clark County in October 2014.
Troopers say Scott contacted the Danville Metropolitan Police Department in Hendricks County Indiana Monday to confess to the murder. Illinois State Police have received his recorded confession.

Charges for First Degree Murder and Scott's extradition to Illinois are pending.
