Local Vintage Record Sale Coming to the University Mall on September 20-21

Item Donations Accepted Through Friday, September 12

Carbondale, Ill. – Mark your calendars and plan to attend the 7th Annual SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale, coming to the University Mall in Carbondale, next to Macy's, on Saturday, September 20 from 10am to 9pm and Sunday, September 21 from noon to 6pm.

Event sponsors include the University Mall, the SIU Credit Union in Carbondale, Energy, and Harrisburg, Wright Do-It Center in Murphysboro, and the Du Quoin Public Library in Du Quoin.

Presented by WSIU Public Radio and the Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS), the annual event offers gently used stereo equipment, vintage vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, VHS tapes, electronic games, audio books, and more at bargain prices, with most vinyl records beginning at $1.00 each. Collectible albums will be offered at a more competitive price.

Working stereo and other music equipment, electronic games, and music donations of rock, jazz, blues, R&B, and country (all items must be in good condition) will be accepted through Friday, September 12 at the following locations:

* University Mall Guest Services (after 1pm), 1237 E. Main, Carbondale

* SIU Credit Union, 1217 W. Main & 395 N. Giant City Road, Carbondale

* SIU Credit Union, 300 S. Pershing, Energy

* SIU Credit Union, 540 N. Commercial, Harrisburg

* Wright Do-It Center, 208 S. Williams, Murphysboro

* Du Quoin Public Library, 28 S. Washington, Du Quoin

All sale proceeds will benefit the SIRIS, a service of WSIU Public Radio and SIU Carbondale for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Broadcasts include regional and national newspapers, magazines, and books. SIRIS is supported in part by the United Way of Southern Illinois.
