“Don’t abandon people. When somebody comes to you and they share something, listen to them. Everybody’s story is different. Sometimes it’s minimal, sometimes it’s major. But to that person – it’s everything.”

Fortune started a campaign called “Project Red Heal,” which features a group of local men posing with a giant red high heel chair – along with their words of inspiration and support for victims of abuse.

The Red Heal photos will be on display at a special open house Thursday evening at Fortune’s studio in Carterville. People can vote on their favorite photo by making a donation to The Women’s Center – more information can be found on Fortune’s Facebook page.

The Open House is scheduled from 5:00pm-8:00pm in Carterville.

Jennifer Fuller joined Capitol News Illinois in July 2023 as the organization’s broadcast director. She will oversee the launch and operations of CNI’s new broadcast division.
