Film: Independent Lens: Soul Food Junkies

Award-winning filmmaker Byron Hurt offers a fascinating exploration of the soul food tradition, its relevance to black cultural identity, and its continuing popularity in the American diet despite the known health hazards of consuming high-fat, high-calorie foods.

The BMI Lens Series features documentary and film works that explore a wide range of social issues and topics. The overall goal of the project is to expose students and guests to the important issues of our time and to provide an atmosphere in which they can think, share, and discuss these issues critically.
