Supermarket employees are among the most essential during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Now, more than 460,000 Kroger workers across the country will be seeing an increase in their pay and benefits -- at least for now.
Kroger and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union announced a $2 per hour pay increase which will be paid to hourly frontline associates in retail stores, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, central fills, pharmacies and contact call centers for the next three weeks at which point the union and Kroger will revisit discussions. Workers affected by COVID-19 will also be eligible for emergency paid leave.

Kroger will offer an associate hotline to answer benefit questions quickly and provide access to mental health services and other benefits to support associates’ mental and physical well-being.
