Media reports say former SIU, Northern Illinois and Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill is about to get back into coaching.
NJ.com says Kill has been named the offensive coordinator at Rutgers University. The Scarlet Knights finished 2-10 this past season and had one of the worst ranked offenses in the country.
The media outlet reports Kill signed a three-year contract with a starting salary of $600,000 and raises of $25,000 per year in each of the two subsequent years.
Kill retired from coaching in 2015, citing complications from epilepsy. He served as Associate Athletic Director for Administration at Kansas State University this past season.
Kill coached the Salukis from 2001-2007 and was the first coach in school history to produce four consecutive winning seasons.
