Jerry Kill is returning to collegiate athletics.
The former head football coach at SIU, Minnesota, Northern Illinois and Emporia State has agreed to serve as Associate Athletics Director for Administration at Kansas State University.
The K-State Athletics Department says Kill will be the chief administrator for the football program.
Kill retired from Minnesota and the coaching profession in 2015 due to health reasons.
A three-time national coach of the year honoree, he recorded winning seasons in 15 of his 22 years as a college head coach.
Kill is still beloved in this region after spending seven years on the Saluki sideline and compiling a 55-32 record. Kill's record over his final five seasons with SIU was 50-14 and included five consecutive NCAA FCS Playoff appearances.
