John A Logan College in Carterville has new leadership.
College Trustees accepted President Mike Dreith's resignation Wednesday, saying they want him to be able to pursue other professional opportunities. Dreith had been a finalist for a similar job in Kansas, though he was not ultimately chosen.
Logan's Board appointed Ron House to the interim post in the same special meeting. House most recently served as the Director of Land Management in the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Dreith had been President for three years at Logan.
House, who holds three degrees from SIU Carbondale, has served as the Executive Director of the Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market, as well as other higher education positions.
