The Jackson County Board will hold a special meeting Monday night to discuss the future of the County's Rehab and Care Center...
Last week the committee that oversees the nursing home in Murphysboro held a special meeting to review offers from companies interested in taking over operation of the facility.
The committee is recommending the County Board accept a purchase offer from RDK Management. RDK is offering to purchase the Jackson County Rehab and Care center as a complete package for 750-thousand dollars. The Care Center is a 178-bed skilled nursing facility. RFK owns similar facilities in Benton, Carrier Mills, and Harrisburg.
Two other health care companies also expressed interest in the nursing home. They are RFMS/UDI which operates more than 20 facilities in four states; and Bridgemark Healthcare which operates 10 facilities in Illinois including Helia Healthcare in Carbondale.
Monday night's special Jackson County Board meeting begins at 6pm at the courthouse in Murphysboro.
