A-J High School Student Honored with Life Saving Award

A junior at Anna-Jonesboro High School is being recognized for his effort to help a motorist in distress.

The Union County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police presented Kyle McMahan a Life Saving Award Wednesday.
McMahan was recognized for his actions that helped save the life of a person involved in an automobile accident in Union County on the night of December 20th.

Law enforcement officials say McMahan's alertness and quick thinking to call 911 along with his willingness to stay with the victim until emergency services arrived, went above and beyond the maturity of a 16-year-old.
