Illinois Records 2,325 New COVID-19 Cases (May 9)

More than two-thousand new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Illinois on Saturday, raising the overall total past 75,000.

There were 2,325 new cases of COVID-19, with 111 deaths. Public Health officials say cases are confirmed in 98 of Illinois' 102 counties.

Overall infections statewide now total 76,085, and total deaths 3,349.

LOCAL CASES:

Effingham County Health Department:

  • One new case confirmed, a woman in her 70s.
  • Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 9, with 7 recoveries.
     

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 44, with 30 recoveries and one death in Williamson County, 10 cases with eight recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is now 162, with 86 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • Five new positive cases of COVID-19. Patients include a man in his 30s, and four children under 12.
  • Overall there have been 97 positive cases of COVID-19, with 71 recoveries and 14 deaths.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, 36 positive cases of COVID-19, with five recoveries.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, 220 positive cases of COVID-19, with 122 recoveries and two deaths.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 103 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 38 recoveries and one death.
