Illinois COVID-19 Report Adds 2,758 New Cases (May 22)

Governor JB Pritzker says the state remains on track to enter Phase 3 of his "Restore Illinois" plan at the end of next week. At the same time, another 2,748 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday, along with an additional 110 deaths.

Friday's report brings Illinois total COVID-19 cases to 105,444 and total deaths to 4,715.

LOCAL CASE UPDATES (4:45pm Update)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.
  • 468 tests have been administered.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 10, with 10 recoveries.
  • 804 tests have been administered in the three-county service area.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • One new case - a woman in her 90s in Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 56, with 41 recoveries and one death in Williamson   County, 11 cases with ten recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • 7 new cases reported - one woman and one man in their 20s, two men in their 40s, one man in his 50s, one woman in her 60s, and one woman in her 90s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is 202, with 168 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall there have been 102 positive cases of COVID-19, with 86 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 1,081 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, there have been 51 positive cases of COVID-19, with 44 recoveries.
  • 1,097 negative test results.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 40 positive cases of COVID-19, with 36 recoveries.
  • 549 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • 4 new cases reported.
  • 40 active cases, with 37 isolating at home and three hospitalized.
  • Overall, 260 positive cases of COVID-19, with 217 recoveries and three deaths.
  • 1,168 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries.
  • 728 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • 13 new cases reported - a woman in her 30s from Massac County; one woman and one man in their 60s, two women in their 70s, four women and one man in their 80s, and two women and one man in their 90s from Union County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 199 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 78 recoveries and four deaths.
