Illinois COVID-19 Cases Continue Growth (May 13)

State of Illinois

May 13 saw Illinois' COVID-19 cases grow by another 1,667, adding another county reporting infection.

The state's death toll grew by 192, now totalling 3,792.
 
Edwards County is now reporting a positive case of COVID-19, making it the 99th county to confirm infection. The total number of infections now stands at 84,698.
 
LOCAL CASE UPDATES (4:45pm)
 
Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 10, with 9 recoveries.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • One new case reported - a woman in her 20s from Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 51, with 31 recoveries and one death in Williamson County, 11 cases with eight recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • Six new cases - a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 50s, two men in their 20s and two men in their 60s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is now 175, with 120 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • One new positive case – a woman in her 20s.
  • Overall there have been 101 positive cases of COVID-19, with 75 recoveries and 14 deaths.

Marion County Health Department

  • One new positive case – a man in his 20s.
  • Overall, there have been 48 positive cases of COVID-19, with 32 recoveries.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 38 positive cases of COVID-19, with 18 recoveries.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • Five new cases reported
  • 75 active cases reported, with 70 isolating at home and five hospitalized 
  • Overall, 237 positive cases of COVID-19, with 159 recoveries and three deaths.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • 42 new cases reported - a woman in her 60s from Johnson County; a teen boy, two women in the 20s, a man in his 30s, three women and four men in their 50s, four women and eight men in their 60s, four women and four men in their 70s, two women and four men in their 80s, and one man in his 90s from Union County; a woman in her 20s, a man in his 40s, and a woman in her 50s from Pulaski County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 150 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 46 recoveries and one death.
