Illinois' COVID-19 totals continue to grow, and the state says it's keeping a close watch on Veterans Homes.
With 1,266 new cases and 54 new deaths, Illinois now records 79,007 confirmed COVID-19 infections and 3,459 total deaths.
On Monday, IDPH announced 40 cases of the novel coronavirus at the Manteno Veterans Home - 30 patients and 10 staff. Veterans homes in Quincy and Anna are also being monitored - no cases have been reported at either of those facilities.
LOCAL CASE UPDATES (4:15pm):
Effingham County Health Department:
- No new cases reported.
- Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.
Egyptian Health Department:
- One new positive case - a man in his 60s from Saline County.
- Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 10, with 7 recoveries.
Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:
- Two new cases reported a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s, both from Williamson County.
- Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 46, with 31 recoveries and one death in Williamson County, 10 cases with eight recoveries in Franklin County.
Jackson County Health Department:
- One new COVID-19 case – a man in his 30s.
- Jackson County's total positive test count is now 168, with 102 recoveries and ten deaths.
Jefferson County Public Health Department:
- One new positive case – a woman in her 50s.
- Overall there have been 99 positive cases of COVID-19, with 73 recoveries and 14 deaths.
Perry County Health Department:
- No new cases reported
- Overall, 36 positive cases of COVID-19, with five recoveries.
Randolph County Health Department:
- No new cases reported
- 94 active cases reported, with 89 isolating at home and five hospitalized
- Overall, 225 positive cases of COVID-19, with 129 recoveries and two deaths.
Richland County Public Health Department:
- No new cases reported
- Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries.
Southern Seven Health Department:
- Four new cases reported: One woman in her 50s from Alexander County, along with teen girl, a woman in her 20s and a woman in her 40s from Union County.
- Overall, Southern Seven reports 107 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 40 recoveries and one death.
