Illinois Community Health Centers Receive Federal Funds for COVID-19 Response

Mar 25, 2020

45 Community Health Centers in Illinois will received 3.6-million dollars in federal grants to support their COVID-19 response efforts.

They'll be able to use the funding to help increase screening and testing needs, acquire medical supplies, protective equipment, and boost telehealth capacity.

The 45 facilities include Shawnee Health Service and Development Corporation in Carterville; Rural Health in Anna; Christopher Rural Health Planning Corp and Community Health & Emergency Services in Cairo.

The funding comes from the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, which was signed into law on March 6.
