After receiving the go ahead from the Illinois Department of Public Health to start playing high school sports in regions that have reached Phase 4 mitigation status, the Illinois High School Association Wednesday released its schedule for its each sport for the remainder of the school year.
Boys and girls basketball teams can start playing games from now until March 13 provided they have completed seven days of practice.

Football practices can start on March 3 with the season to start the weekend of March 19.

Wrestling is pushed back to April with matches concluding on June 12.

There will be no state series for basketball, football or wrestling.

Traditional spring sports can start practicing April 5 with their seasons ending on June 19. The IHSA Board is considering state series competition for these sports.

IHSA guidelines require all student-athletes to participate in masks -- with some exceptions -- and for all game personnel not participating to also wear masks and adhere to social distancing.
