The Illinois Federation of Teachers is endorsing democrat Bill Kilquist in the 115th district state House race.
The longtime Jackson County Sheriff and John A. Logan College Board member says if elected, he will review the state budget line by line to preserve and secure more funding for education in southern Illinois.

Kilquist will face republican Terri Bryant and Green Party write-in candidate Gary Shepherd in the November election.
