IDPH Reports Third Vape-Related Death.

A third vaping–related death has been confirmed in Illinois.  According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, the person had recently vaped and had been hospitalized with a severe lung injury. This recent death now brings to 166 people in the state who have confirmed lung injuries as a result if using e–cigarettes.

While the press release says that no single compound used in e–cigarettes has been identified as the cause of the outbreak, the IDPH does say national and state findings are suggesting that THC are linked to most cases of injuries or deaths.

The IDPH also stressed that over 80 percent of the  THC–Vaping  cases in Illinois  involved the users obtaining the vapes, informally.

People who experience any type of chest pain or breathing difficulties should seek medical help immediately.
