Hurst Woman Charged in Mother's Death

People
Williamson County Sheriff's Department

A Hurst woman is accused of manslaughter in the death of her mother earlier this year.
A Williamson County Grand Jury indicted 47-year old Mary Clay Monday. State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti says Clay was Dorothy Mize's caretaker from April of 2018 through January of 2019, when Mize died as a result of neglect.

Zanotti says Clay should have taken better care of her mother, whose death was caused in part by sepsis after her leg was amputated. She also suffered necrosis, ulcers, and malnutrition.

Clay was arrested and is being held in the Williamson County Jail on $250,000 bond.
